This help article explains how the referral program works, including how users can earn bonuses by inviting others and the requirements.

Welcome to the Geegpay referral program! Here’s how you can benefit from inviting friends and colleagues to join the platform. Below are all the details you need to know about how the referral program works, the rewards you can earn, and the requirements to qualify.

Who are the Referrer and Referee?

  1. Referrer: This is you, the existing Geegpay user who invites others to join the platform using your referral link.

  2. Referee: The new user who is being invited to join Geegpay through your referral link.


Referral Bonus Breakdown

Once the referred user (referee) meets the necessary requirements:

  • You (Referrer) will receive $4.

  • The Referee will receive $2 for successfully joining and meeting the criteria.

  • The maximum referral reward is $152. After reaching this limit, you can still refer users, but you won’t receive further rewards.


Referral Requirements

To unlock the referral bonus, the referee must complete the following steps within 45 days of signing up:

  1. Complete Onboarding: The referee must complete their account setup.

  2. Meet One of These Two Criteria:

    • The referee must receive an inflow of $200 (or its equivalent in GBP and EUR) into their Geegpay global bank account. NGN inflows do not qualify.

    OR

    • The referee must perform card transactions totalling $200. This can be:

      • A single transaction of $200.

      • Multiple transactions, with each transaction being at least $5.

    Note: Only spending with the Geegpay card qualifies as a transaction (outflow).


Conditions That Disqualify You from a Bonus

  • If the referee does not meet the requirements, neither the referrer nor referee will receive a reward.

  • Referrers with a history of account suspension will not be rewarded.

  • The bonus will expire if the criteria aren’t met within 45 days.

  • Once the $152 referral limit is reached, no further rewards will be given.

  • If either user is blacklisted or their virtual account is disabled, rewards won’t be credited.

  • Raenest-to-Raenest transactions for inflows will not qualify.

  • If an inflow or card transaction that triggered the reward gets refunded, the reward will be reversed.


Referral Status Definitions

  • Invited: The new user has started onboarding but hasn’t completed it.

  • Onboarding/Onboarded: The referee has completed onboarding.

  • Rewarded: Both the referrer and referee have received their rewards.

  • Withdrawn: The referral reward has been transferred from the reward wallet to the USD wallet.

  • Expired: The referee did not meet the financial requirements within 45 days.

  • Cancelled: The reward was reversed due to a refund or other disqualifying action.

  • Outstanding: The reward is pending a reversal or other settlement.


Note: If a user owes Geegpay and their wallets are empty, their USD wallet will show a negative balance indicating debt.
