Accepted Documents for ID Verification (US Residents).

Updated yesterday

If you’re a US resident opening a US bank account with Raenest, you’ll need to verify your identity. This is a requirement under US law and helps us keep your account secure and compliant.

Accepted documents

You can complete verification using one of the following:

  • Social Security Number (SSN) (Preferred)

  • US Green Card

  • US Passport

  • US Driver’s Licence

  • US Visa — the following visa types are accepted:

    • E-1, E-2, E-3 – Treaty trader, treaty investor, and specialty occupation visas (mainly work-related)

    • L-1 – Intra-company transferee visa for employees moving to a US branch

    • O-1 – For individuals with extraordinary ability or achievement (science, arts, education, business, athletics)

    • H-1B – Specialty occupation work visa

    • TN-1 – Work visa for Canadian professionals under NAFTA/USMCA

    • G-4 – For employees of international organizations (e.g. UN, World Bank) and their families

    • DACA – Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (not a visa, but accepted as proof of identity)

    • EB-1 – Employment-based immigrant visa

Our preferred verification method

We highly recommend using your SSN whenever possible. The SSN is the most straightforward and reliable method of verification and ensures faster verification and uninterrupted access to your account, without needing to provide additional documents later.

Important note for visa users

If your country of residence is the US and you verify your identity using a visa instead of your SSN during onboarding:

  • You will be required to provide your SSN within 4 weeks of joining Raenest.

  • A reminder notice will be sent, and you’ll have up to 6 weeks to provide your SSN.

If you fail to provide your SSN within this period, restrictions will be placed on transacting with your USD account, wallet, and USD card. Other actions on the Raenest app will not be restricted.
