Possible Reasons for Card Transaction Failure

Why Your Raenest USD Virtual Card Transaction May Fail

Updated today

There are several reasons why a card transaction might fail. Below are the most common ones and how to avoid them:

1. Insufficient Funds

Your card must have enough balance to cover the transaction amount plus a $0.50 transaction fee. If your payment fails, check your balance and ensure you have enough funds before trying again.

Note: If your card transaction fails four (4) times due to insufficient funds within 48 hours, your card will be temporarily frozen. You can unfreeze it using the app. However, if your payment fails two more times after unfreezing, your card may be permanently deactivated.

2. Incorrect Card Details

If the card number, expiration date, or CVV are entered incorrectly, the transaction will fail. Always double-check your details before proceeding.

3. Incorrect Billing Address

You have two billing addresses associated with your Raenest USD virtual card:

  • A U.S. billing address

  • Your home country billing address

You can use either address to complete your payment, but make sure you're entering the correct postal code. You can find both addresses and the correct postal codes under Billing Address Info on the Cards page. For more details on billing addresses, check out our blog post here.

4. Daily or Monthly Spending Limits Reached

If you've hit your daily or monthly spending limit, your transaction will be declined. If you need an increased limit, please contact our support team.

5. Technical Issues

Sometimes, technical issues with the merchant's system, payment network, or the card provider can cause a transaction to fail. If this happens, try again later or contact support.

6. Restricted Websites

Your Raenest USD virtual card cannot be used for transactions related to:

❌ Gambling

❌ Money send

If the transaction falls under a restricted category, it will be automatically declined.
